Chinese Language Teachers' Association Of Western Australia




The activities of the CLTAWA are determined and organised by the Committee, elected at the Annual General Meeting each year.


The Committee consists of the President, Vice-president, Secretary, Treasurer and five ordinary members elected by the Annual General Meeting and up to three members co-opted by the Committee to ensure that members in community schools, Government schools, non-government schools, TAFE, and tertiary institutions have representation on the Committee.


Regular activities include:


  • monthly committee meetings
  • publication of newsletters to keep members informed.
  • professional development activities
  • activities for students including speaking and writing competitions
  • participation in the Chinese Language Teachers Federation of Australia national Chinese teachers annual conference
  • liaising with education  authorities and governments
  • maintaining close links with the Consulate-General of the People?s Republic of China in Perth.
